coffee
the first note. taste, trained over time, and how looking becomes intuition.
taste doesn’t appear out of nowhere.
it builds over time.
you train it. by noticing, repeating, being present.
it’s like when you’ve had enough good coffee
you just know when something’s off.
you can explain it. you feel it.
that’s what image-making has become for me.
the more i watch films, observe light in real life,
study framing and movement.
the more i stop guessing.
intuition grows through reference.
when you’ve seen honest, strong work,
your eye remembers.
but it’s not just memory. it’s also curiosity.
staying open. asking questions.
that’s what keeps the work alive.
kids are curious by default.
somewhere along the way we forget.
i think the goal is to hold onto that.
this isn’t a guide.
just a reflection on how looking becomes intuition,
and how curiosity keeps it alive.
